A working definition, and why precision matters

Sustainability sets a floor: reduce harm, hold impact roughly constant. A regenerative design brief sets a different target entirely, that the completed project leaves the measurable condition of a place better than its baseline, soil organic matter, watershed yield, income diversity, not only carbon intensity. The distinction is not semantic. It changes which interventions get funded and how they get measured.

Our practice begins every engagement with a systems diagnostic across the interacting layers that determine how a place performs, land, water, energy, food, community health, the built environment, and orbital monitoring, before any technology or capital decision is made.
