Sequencing power and water in frontier markets

In the frontier markets where a meaningful share of our pipeline sits, water infrastructure is rarely the first investment. It follows power, because it depends on power.

Pumping, treatment, and desalination are energy intensive processes. Reliable water access in these markets is frequently downstream of reliable power access, not a parallel track. Sequencing energy investment with this dependency explicit changes what becomes achievable for a region within a small number of years rather than a generation.

This is why our energy origination diligence now asks a water question before a grid question: what does dependable power at this site unlock for regional water security, and is that worth designing the interconnection and capacity around from the outset.
